De n-gram analyse is een analyse waarbij er wordt gekeken naar prestaties van zoekwoorden op basis van meerdere combinaties. In dit artikel vind je een Google Ads-script die dit geautomatiseerd voor je uitvoert om je op ieder moment scherp te houden!

Wat is een N-gram analyse?

Een n-gram is een zinsnede gemaakt van n woorden: een 1-gram is een enkel woord, een 2-gram is een zinsnede gemaakt van twee woorden, enzovoort. Bijvoorbeeld, “deze vier woorden zin” bevat drie 2-grams (“deze vier,” “vier woorden,” “woorden zin”) en twee 3-grams (“dit vier woorden” en “vier woorden zin”).

Bij een N-gram analyse worden de clicks, impressies, kosten, geconverteerde clicks en conversiewaarde van elke mogelijke query opgeteld en gerangschikt.

Wanneer de prestatie goed is, kun je ervoor kiezen om nieuwe advertentiegroepen te maken rond het n-gram (dus een bepaalde zoekwoordencombinatie); als de prestatie slecht is, kun je het n-gram uitsluiten als een negatief zoekwoord. De gegevens worden getoond op advertentiegroepniveau, evenals op campagne- en accountniveau, zodat je kunt kijken naar welke granulariteit je maar wilt.

Kijken naar langere zinnen geeft meer inzicht, maar het betekent ook dat de zin in minder query’s verschijnt. Daarom is er binnen het Ads-script een “Query Count” kolom opgenomen die laat zien binnen hoeveel queries een bepaald woord voorkwam.

Ten slotte is er een woordentellinganalyse om te zien of langere of kortere query’s het beste voor je campagnes werken.

Over het script

Bovenaan het script zijn er enkele opties die je moet wijzigen, afhankelijk van uw voorkeuren en de accountinstellingen:

De start- en einddatum bepalen het datumbereik van de gegevens.

campaignNameContains kan worden gebruikt om het script alleen te laten kijken naar sommige campagnes. Bijvoorbeeld, als het is ingesteld op “High Priority”, zal het script alleen kijken naar zoekopdrachten in campagnes met “High Priority” in de naam. Dit is niet hoofdlettergevoelig.

campaignNameDoesNotContain kan worden gebruikt om het script sommige campagnes te laten negeren. Als je hier bijvoorbeeld “RLSA” neerzet, dan kijkt het script niet naar campagnes met “RLSA” in de naam. Ook dit is niet hoofdlettergevoelig.

Als ignorePausedCampaigns en ignorePausedAdGroups beide waar zijn, dan zal het script alleen kijken naar de huidige actieve campagnes en advertentiegroepen.

Als checkNegatives waar is, dan zal het script queries controleren op de huidige negatieve trefwoorden, dus alle queries die nu zouden worden uitgesloten worden genegeerd. Als dit op false staat, dan worden alle queries gebruikt. Als je veel negatieve zoekwoorden hebt, en het script kost veel tijd om uit te voeren, probeer dit dan op false te zetten.

spreadsheetUrl is de URL van jouw eigen Google Spreadsheets, waarin de resultaten worden geplakt. Maak een blanco spreadsheet aan en zet de URL hierin. Negeer deze stap niet!

minNGramLength en maxNGramLength laten je bepalen hoe groot of klein de zinnen zijn waar je naar kijkt. Als je bijvoorbeeld minNGramLength instelt op 2 en maxNGramLength op 4, dan wordt er gekeken naar 2-grams, 3-grams en 4-grams. Als u zowel de minNGramLength als de maxNGramLength instelt op 2, zal er alleen gekeken worden naar twee-woordzinnen. Stel beide in op 1 om alleen naar enkele woorden te kijken.

Als clearSpreadsheet waar is, worden alle gegevens die al in de spreadsheet staan overschreven. Als het false is, dan worden de resultaten van het script aan het einde van de vellen toegevoegd.
